Back by popular demand, the UK’s largest pop-up chandlery is back and even bigger than before!

This year’s Southampton International Boat Show offers even more opportunities to see, try and buy with an increased number of retail and chandlery stands selling everything from the latest clothing, footwear, beachwear and accessories to specialist chandlery items such as shackles, ropes, electronics and engines and everything in between. With over 1200 square metres of chandlery and clothing (so far) for you to explore, you are sure to find just what you need.

“Visitor research from last year’s show highlighted that more chandlery and retail stands would be welcomed, so that’s what we’re proud to be providing,” explained British Marine CEO, Lesley Robinson.

“This year we are launching a brand-new chandlery hub, with additional retailers of specialist equipment, as well as some new and independent stores in each of the show’s zones. There’s never been a better opportunity to come along to pick up all the bits and pieces you need to have fun, look good and be safe on the water.”

Diving and watersports retailer Andark will be displaying everything from specialist dive equipment including a new compact compressor which can be used on a boat, through to the latest snorkelling kit, perfect for a holiday. Whether above or below the water, the Andark stand is packed with kit and equipment from leading brands including Helly Hansen, Musto, Gill, Zhik, Dubarry, Magic Marine, Spinlock, Crewsaver, Beuchat, Suunto, Scubapro, Typhoon, alongside  Andark’s own brand.  From buoyancy aids to lifejackets, wetsuits to SUPs, this bustling stand located right by the show entrance is the perfect place to pick up everything you need.

Peter Leonard Marine (PLM) is not only displaying boats this year, but also building a pop-up chandlery with many of the leading suppliers products available to buy and take away on the day. Visitors can purchase Apache Moose deck shoes, Holbrook Jumpers, Marlow Rope, Aquamarine Sailing apparel and chandlery items. From clothing and accessories specialist Rooster, with its rails packed with the latest dinghy, waterports, offshore and onshore gear, through to seeing innovative new eco-friendly rope made from recycled yarn (rPet) made from plastic bottles on the English Braid stand.  Or maybe you’re looking for advice from Jimmy Green Marine’s experienced team of riggers to ensure mooring ropes, warps, anchor lines and fenders are exactly the right size and length, the Southampton International Boat show is the place to head for the latest advice, technology and innovation.

One-stop shop Marathon Leisure will be showcasing everything from electronics, safety equipment, water systems, maintenance and hardware on its stand. With all products available to purchase and take away, or be shipped to the customer, one of the star attractions will be Spinlock’s new Alto belt. One of the first recipients of the Kings Award for Innovation, the Alto is a lightweight, compact, inflatable flotation device designed to be worn around the waist, and is perfect for paddleboarding, kayaking, powerboating, fishing and a wide range of watersports. Alongside other products from Spinlock, the Marathon stand will also feature power systems from Mastervolt, Whale water pumps, and paint and adhesives from Hempel.  With Waveline’s 2.7m RIB on display, there’s also a full range of electronics from Humminbrd, trolling motors from Minn Kota and for cooking your catch, induction hobs from Kenton and grills from Silken.

Located opposite the famous Guinness Bar, YouBoat Marine is the place to go for all things relating to safety on the water. In partnership with Ocean Safety, there will be experts on hand to provide detailed advice, and visitors can compare products and equipment side by side. The stand features an inflated Ocean Safety ISO 4-man life-raft and inflated jonBuoy rescue module, and visitors can see, feel and discuss the latest in man overboard recovery systems, personal locator beacons, distress pyrotechnics and electronic safety products. There are also lifejackets from Crewsaver and Spinlock, deck hardware and chandlery, rope, technical and casual clothing from Helly Hansen, Musto and Gill, shoes and boots from Dubarry, Orca Bay and Apache Moose.  Brand new at the show will be the Sea Front Hurst deck shoe.    With numerous special show offers, visitors can choose to take away their purchases there and then, or have them shipped for collection from a YouBoat store or direct to home, anywhere in the world.

Browsing around the stands at a show is always a great opportunity to spot something new from small and independent companies, and this year sees the debut of new British company Shore2Sea. This Devon-based company designs fun and funky dry bags and will be revealing its new eye-catching designs at the show, with colourful crabs, cheeky seagulls and fancy rainbow-coloured motifs sure to catch the eye of passers-by.  Also, brand new at the show is a range of high quality 100 percent cotton quick drying and compact towels from Lorima. Inspired by their own experiences when sailing with their family, the team behind this independent Southampton-based store now offers a range of colourful and stylish high absorbency towels, beach changing robes for adults and children, and unique shopper and storage bags sourced from Ghana – ideal for use at home as well as practical for carrying and storage on and off a boat.

Bright and colourful beachwear adorns the Venus Seychelles stand whilst shoe aficionados will savour stylish footwear for on and off the water at the Sebago, Quayside and Cabotswood stands.

For all things technical, head to the Lewmar stand to see the latest in innovative, reliable and high-quality marine products. From anchors to winches, windlasses to hatches, the trusted team of experts at Lewmar’s Tech Bar will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate useful skills such as how to service a winch.

So, whether looking for unique, fun, stylish and colourful kit and clothing, or top technical advice and recommendations for essential safety equipment, finding the perfect piece of hardware, understanding specialist electronics, and seeking out the latest innovations and product launches, this year’s Southampton International Boat Show has it all.
