British Marine welcomes, and is immensely proud, to be included in the UK Shipbuilding Skills Taskforce report which was published on Monday 11 September: Under the clearly defined action and subsequent recommendation of:
‘Enhancing the skills system: Taking action to address small and medium enterprise needs.
Recommendation: Provide bespoke bootcamp-style investment to support boatbuilding on the south coast of England.’
British Marine extends its thanks to Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust and South Devon College for their collaboration and to our member base from whom we sought a steer and advice, culminating in this British Marine Academy proposal (as detailed in the report).
We are committed to overseeing the proposal evolve from a recommendation into an action and will continue to work with and strengthen the partnerships forged during the inception of the proposal, through to its fruition.
