Earlier this month the Department for International Trade published its export strategy. This sets out how the department plans to encourage more UK businesses to support and in doing so, help the UK to reach one trillion in exports every year ahead of schedule.

The strategy includes a 12-point plan which lays out the path the government will take to transform its support offer and build back better following the pandemic.

The other measures set out within the document are plans to introduce a pilot UK Trade Show Programme to support UK businesses to export. Training will be offered to businesses on how to make the most of their attendance at shows – and grants of up £4,000 may be available to support with exhibition costs.

The department has also announced more DIT offices and officers, the launch of the UK SME Export Support Tool, and a new campaign: Make in the UK, Sold to the World are all designed to increase the support available and its accessibility.

The new strategy can be found here.
