Tribord LJ 150N & Harness Life Jacket.

On 5 November 2021 the Office for Product Safety & Standards released their weekly Product Safety Report which lists all of the products which are unsafe to be used and have subsequently been recalled.

This report highlighted one product which is particularly applicable to the marine industry, which was a Tribord LJ 150N & Harness Life Jacket (as seen in the picture supplied). This life jacket poses the risk of drowning because in very rare cases, there is a risk that the harness may fail if you fall overboard.

This defect does not affect the buoyancy of the product, but it may mean that you are no longer attached to your boat, making it unsafe to use. The description of this product is a black safety harness with black straps and Tribord labelling, where the country of origin is France.

British Marine highly recommend that you sign up to this weekly alert that the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) release and review along with the alert each week.
