The first METSTRADE in two years will run between the 16-18 November 2021 and will feature 36 member companies within the British Marine organised British Pavilion and a further 25 members who will be exhibiting across the whole show.

The British Marine stand in Hall 3 (stand 03.221) will resume its role as a highly popular hub for member exhibitors and visitors in the heart of the British Pavilion, featuring drop-in networking tables with complimentary refreshments on tap. The British Marine team, including CEO Lesley Robinson, will be available throughout to support members.

Networking opportunities will be further enhanced by Closing Hour Mix and Mingle Sessions on Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 November 17:00-18:00. These will be held on the British Marine stand and will provide a strong focal point to attract all the people that might otherwise be missed during METSTRADE.

British achievement highlighted at show opening

The scene-setting Breakfast Briefing at METSTRADE at 08:30 on Tuesday 16 November will feature a keynote from British six times world circumnavigator and ocean advocate, Dee Caffari. The equally world-renowned DAME Awards ceremony will follow, in which more than one-quarter of nominees are British entries this year. British Marine members on the shortlist include Garmin, Navico, Rooster Sailing, Scanstrut and Volvo Penta.

Members Princess Yachts and Sunseeker International are also among 15 shortlisted global companies at the Boat Builder Awards, which will be taking place on Wednesday 17 November at 17:30. This event is co-organised by British Marine member IBI, in conjunction with METSTRADE.

METSTRADE on TV and online

In a first for METSTRADE, there will be nine hours of live TV broadcasts direct from the show floor. Guests from British Marine member companies will include David Barrow of Barrow International, Navico’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Tara Norton and ICOMIA’s Udo Kleinitz and Patrick Hemp. IBI’s Ed Slack will chair a series of TechTalks covering key topics including electrification and the boat as a home office.

You can view METSTRADE TV live or on catch-up on METSTRADE Connect, a virtual show platform that enables you to interact with all exhibitors.

Important meetings and conferences

British Marine and the Marina Industries Association (MIA) will host a GMI Certified Members Global Meeting on 17 November to discuss trending topics and developments for marinas worldwide and provide an essential networking opportunity for marina professionals. This is one of just many important behind the scenes meetings involving British Marine members and staff throughout METSTRADE.

Welcome return

Speaking on the eve of the show British Marine CEO, Lesley Robinson, said: “The importance of METSTRADE to many of our internationally-focused members cannot be under-estimated. It serves as a logical first step for any fledgling exporter, with the British Pavilion having provided a foothold into overseas markets for so many companies over the years. It is equally vital for more established exporters as an annual boost to vital relationship building and growth of distribution.

British Marine welcomes this well-planned return to one of the industry’s most significant annual global gatherings and looks forward to meeting and working with many members and their trading partners there.”
