Following the success of the first international trade clinic held at the beginning of November, British Marine is once again partnering with the Department for International Trade to provide its members with the opportunity to meet a dedicated trade adviser.
Members will be able to discuss export plans and find out more about how the department’s Internationalisation Fund can be used to support attendance at overseas trade shows, as well as market research and consultancy.
The Internationalisation Fund currently provides matched funding, with grants of up to £9,000 available for consultancy support, market research and can be used towards overseas attendance at trade shows. Businesses seeking these funds must speak to their regional trade adviser before they apply which is why we are partnering to provide this opportunity.
The one-hour appointments with DIT south-east trade adviser David Ryan will take place on Friday 3 December as a first-come first served basis. These will be held in British Marine’s office in Tagus House, Southampton and will provide members with the information they need to apply for the funding.
Members based in the south east wishing to register their interest should email Frances Marley on FMarley@britishmarine.co.uk indicating their preference for a morning or afternoon appointment on Friday 3 December.
Commenting on the success of the first DIT clinic held earlier this month, David Ryan said: “It was a great opportunity for me as an international trade adviser to meet a cross section of entrepreneurial marine industry companies which I fully expect to be successful in winning Internationalisation Fund grants to boost their export efforts over the coming months.”
