Chancellor Rishi Sunak recently announced that apprentice incentives will run until the end of January 2022, so companies which are considering taking on an apprentice in the next few months should take advantage of this.
In addition, bonuses of £3,000 for every apprentice hired by a business has also been prolonged by four months. This incentive had previously been set to end on 30 September 2021.
The incentive payment is in addition to the £1,000 that employers already receive for hiring an apprentice:
- aged 16 to 18 years old
OR
- Those who are ages 19 to 24 with an education, health and care plan or who have been in the care of their local authority.
Further information on employing an apprentice or details on other skills and employment programmes can be found here.
