Aquafax, the UK’s leading technical distributor of marine equipment, is pleased to announce and welcome Bob Sims to the team. Bob will be responsible for providing technical support to trade partners, focusing on Aquafax’s marine electronics portfolio, B&G, Lowrance and C-Map brands and he will further strengthen the market-leading technical team.
Previously working for marine electronics specialist Raymarine, Bob has over 30 years of industry expertise and specialist knowledge. Whilst with Raymarine he was responsible for providing technical support to subsidiary sales offices, international distributors, retailers, and service dealers. In recent years, Bob has focused on full system support for UK original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and is an authority on Autopilot installations.
“This is an exciting time to be joining Aquafax,” said Bob Sims. “I look forward to working closely with our trade partners, sharing my knowledge and expertise where needed. Aquafax has made significant investment in its technical support offering and with a fantastic new facility at Hamble it is best placed to service the requirements of suppliers and trade customers. I am proud to be part of this next chapter for Aquafax and will be reaching out to old industry contacts to assist in growing Navico’s (a marine electronics company providing navigation, marine instruments and fish finding equipment to both the recreational and commercial marine sectors) market share.”
Bob’s appointment shows a continued commitment to add value to Aquafax’s customers and differentiate it from its competitors.
“We have made significant investment in personnel over the course of 2021, ensuring we have the right team to support our broad portfolio and diverse customer base” said Harry Heasman, head of sales at Aquafax. “Electronics are a new product category for Aquafax and following our appointment as UK distributor for B&G, Lowrance and C-Map it was important we had the right team onboard. Bob was our first choice to lead and grow the electronics technical team and we are pleased to have him join the business.”
