CEO to leave RYA Scotland

After nearly 8 years as Chief Executive Officer, James Allan has decided to leave RYA Scotland on 30 September 2022 to pursue the next chapter in his career.

James has made a tremendous contribution to RYA Scotland with sector leading achievements in equality, diversity and inclusion and leaves a legacy of creativity in the organisations strategic direction.

James Allan said:

“ After nearly 8 years leading RYA Scotland I have decided it is time to look towards new professional and personal goals. The pandemic is behind us and now feels the right time to hand over the helm.

I have met and worked with the most amazing people across Scotland’s boating community and beyond. I am incredibly proud of our achievements and the impact of our work which I am confident RYA Scotland will continue into the future.”

Brian Wilson Chair of RYA Scotland said:

“We are grateful to James for his guidance and leadership over his time and particularly through lockdown where his tireless work ensured boating remained available to us all. He has moved RYA Scotland forward considerably during his tenure and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
