British Marine member companies heading to METSTRADE

Showcasing the best of British on the international stage

At METSTRADE, the world’s largest marine equipment trade show, taking place between the 15-17 November 2022, 38 British Marine member companies will be showcasing their products and services at the British Marine organised British Pavilion (Hall 3), with a further seven members exhibiting in the Superyacht Pavilion (Halls 10-11).

British Marine resumes its role as a highly popular hub for member exhibitors and visitors in the heart of the British Pavilion on stand 03.221, featuring drop-in networking tables and complementary refreshments. The British Marine team, including CEO Lesley Robinson, will also be on hand throughout to support members.

We will also be hosting a networking event, on Wednesday 16 November 16.00-18.00 on the British Marine stand, providing another opportunity to spend time chatting to fellow exhibitors and visitors to the show.

“METS is a ‘must’ for us, as a new technology business we are challenged to raise awareness of our company and products in the marine market and there is no other show better than METS to achieve this. Great quality delegates, 100% professionals and I would argue environmentally efficient as so much global business can be achieved in one place. British Marine are a huge help securing our location and the Pavilion is attractive to delegates with the British reputation for quality and innovation” commented Ian Howarth, CEO, Cyclops Marine Ltd and British Marine member.

Highlighting British achievements

Taking place on the morning of Tuesday 15 November, winners of the world-renowned DAME Awards 2022 will be announced.  Launched to promote marine design in all disciplines and to recognise the best-designed products at METSTRADE, this year sees four British Marine members on the shortlist: Garmin (Europe) Ltd, Advanced System Group, Cyclops Marine Ltd, Versadock and Rooster Sailing Ltd.

While members Fairline Yachts, Sunseeker International and Beneteau Group are also among 36 shortlisted global companies at the Boat Builder Awards 2022, in association with Raymarine, which will also be taking place on Tuesday 15 November. Good luck to all.

First Women in the Marine Industry International event

This year British Marine is delighted to be collaborating with METSTRADE and Soundings Trade Only, to launch the first ‘Women in the Marine Industry International’ networking event (Wednesday 16 November).

Specifically focused on female professionals working within the leisure marine industry, the event is open to all genders and kicks off with breakfast and the opportunity to network, followed by an industry leadership panel, which will take a deep dive into opportunities and challenges pertinent to women working within the marine industry.

The panelists are Malin Schwartz, Senior Vice President, Volvo Penta, Nona Pedersen, General Manager, Propspeed, Delphine Planes, Vice President of Purchasing, Groupe Beneteau, Boat Division, Barbara Amerio, CEO PerMare Group, Leontien Moulijn, Franchise Development Manager EMEA, Freedom Boat Club a division of Brunswick.

“We are proud to be partnering with Soundings Trade Only and METSTRADE to bring Women in Marine to the international stage. We hope that by holding more events like this we can work together to ensure that the marine industry is more inclusive and diverse, ensuring that a person’s sex, age, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, or religion is not a barrier to working in the sector. There has already been great interest in the event and we hope that this will be the first of many future events here at METSTRADE”, commented Lesley Robinson, CEO British Marine.

“The importance of METSTRADE to our internationally focused members cannot be under-estimated. It serves as a logical first step for any fledgling exporter, with the British Pavilion having provided a foothold into overseas markets for so many companies over the years. It is equally vital for more established exporters as an annual boost to vital relationship building and growth of distribution. We are looking forward to meeting and working with many members and their trading partners at the show”, Lesley added.
