Dinghy and Watersports Show 2023
…..is on 25-26 February in Farnborough. It’ll featuring dinghy sailing, windsurfing, wingsurfing & foiling and paddleboarding, however you like to get afloat. Join us for interactive family fun, watersports displays and demos, live coaching sessions, hundreds of boats and the biggest names in marine retail all under one roof. The way people experience the sessions we run makes a huge difference to their experience of our sport. Join us to consider how we can deliver and adapt sessions on the water for people from diverse communities.
The aims of the day are:
- To increase our confidence delivering sessions for people from diverse communities
- To understand how to adapt our sessions for people from diverse communities
- Develop our ourselves as instructors and coaches

Regional Training Day
Join your regional team for a day of personal learning and development at the Regional Training Day (formerly Instructor Training Day) on 11 March at Queen Mary Sailing Club. This is for anyone involved in the practical delivery of activities supported by the RYA small craft schemes to help you get set for the season ahead. Understanding your customers and retaining new members
Can I encourage you to find out more about this with your club development plan in mind. Knowing your customer is vital in order for your centre to grow. Market Segmentation is a process that builds a profile of potential customers, allowing you to better understand who your different customer types are, and where they are located. Here’s more help for you club to do this.
Funding
Let’s say cheers to Proud to Pitch in which is a new funding initiative from Greene King IPA. The aim of this fund is to support sports focused projects that positively impact their club and/or the local community, and would tangibly benefit from funding. The fund is particularly focused on sports projects that have a long term impact. Examples of projects that have previously received funding include:
- Renovations of a club’s facilities making them more inclusive and accessible
- Coaching qualifications
- New equipment

We’re always looking out for stories to pop on our web site and send to your local media, and snippets (two or three sentences) to promote your events or show what you’ve been doing, with photos (landscape format) and links. Or why not send us a short video (15-100 seconds, landscape format) done in one take on your ‘phone to share on our social media. All should have some RYA/regional connection.
