Are you clear about HMRC requirements when it comes to the sale of red diesel?
This was a topic of discussion at TYHA’s marina conference earlier this summer as the failure to fully adhere to Excise Notice 192 could risk an RDCO having its registration revoked.
HMRC requires registered dealers in controlled oil (RDCOs), such as marina operators which sell red diesel, to ensure their staff are “sufficiently” trained so that they can recognise and report suspicious matters. HMRC also requires them to carry out “appropriate” checks on their customers and stay accountable for all their supplies to them.
To help clarify these expectations and to discuss the practicalities within the leisure marine sector, British Marine will be joined by senior officials from HMRC’s Fuel Duty Policy Delivery Team for a brief webinar, via Teams, on Thursday 27 July at 1pm.
If you would like to join this event, where you can put your questions to HMRC, please email publicaffairs@britishmarine.co.uk by Friday 21 July.
If you require further information please contact Joanna Richardson, Senior Public Affairs Executive, on telephone 07860 848834.
