At the last RYA Committee meeting on Saturday 18 February Doug was thanked for his efforts by the Committee. Originally joining the Committee through representing CAYF (the Crouch Area Yachting Federation), and previously serving as Vice Chair for two years prior to 2018, Doug has contributed an enormous amount to the Region and its activities. Going forward, the Chair of the Regional Volunteer Team will be Alice Davies, with Sara Hopkinson taking up the role of Deputy Chair following her retirement as Chair of HASA (Harwich Area Sailing Association).
Robbie Bell, Regional Development Officer for the East said:
“Doug has committed a significant amount of time and enthusiasm on behalf of the RYA and I am very grateful for all of his hard work. The RYA benefits hugely from volunteers and I am really looking forward to working with Alice over the coming
months to implement a new regional structure. If you are interested in supporting the RYA through volunteering please get in touch.”
