RYA Northern Ireland is pleased to announce the launch of our Coach Development Programme designed to develop a pool of coaches capable of coaching at a national level.
This programme, which is completely free for all those involved, invites those people already involved in coaching to apply to develop their existing skills through a series of workshops and on the water coaching days over the next 12-18 months.
We have chosen to make this investment in the future of Northern Irish sailing as we believe high quality coaches are central to achieving our goals of “Maximising Athlete Potential” and “Re-Imagined Pathways” as outlined in our five-year strategy, Navigating The Future.
This programme provides a major opportunity to develop your coaching ability and wider sailing knowledge. Following the launch of Project Theia, RYA Northern Ireland is expanding the depth and breadth of sailing across the country including a team racing programme and a development academy so there couldn’t be a better time to get involved in coaching.
In addition to this, the programme offers the opportunity for financial benefits to successful applicants. Not only will being part of the programme increase chances of gaining paid work as an RYA coach, but members of the programme will also have free access to our regional training day taking place on the 23rd of March.
