Barton Marine is pleased to announce the return of Tuphblox, the original range of Tufnol® Blocks, which it first manufactured in 1948. Following the closure of Holland Yacht Equipment (HYE), which has supplied the market for many years, there has been considerable interest from users around the world asking the Barton team to fill the gap and ensure continuity.
With a strong history of manufacturing high quality Tufnol® blocks and the engineering expertise and manufacturing flexibility to rapidly respond to the demand, the range will be available from August.
Barton’s Tuphblox range will be manufactured using real OEM Tufnol® for maximum performance. Over time it has been improved as a synthetic resin bonded fabric construction material to become a mainstay in marine applications alongside industrial applications for its high strength, low weight, and conductivity properties. Combined with 316 marine grade stainless steel and brass bearings, Barton’s high strength Tuphblox will be ultra-durable, free running and highly corrosion resistant.
Ideal for classic yachts up to 50ft with sheave sizes between 8-16mm, Tuphblox will provide original aesthetics, superior UV resistance and maximum service life. Tufnol® blocks are also ideal for use aboard commercial vessels and in general industry where practicality, strength and durability are key.
Jeff Webber, chief commercial officer said: “Barton Marine was the original pioneers of Tufnol® blocks and it is fitting that with this gap opening in the marketplace, we are the ones to fill it. We are in the process of manufacturing the initial batches of the most in-demand lines and will be shipping them in the near future. We are highly customer focused and it is clear that many users of Tufnol® blocks are eager to source a new supplier. We are aiming to make the transition as seamless as possible.”
Tuphblox will be available through the global Barton distribution network and pricing will be competitive with the latest price list from HYE.
