Willis Slane founded Hatteras Yachts in 1959, introducing the concept of a luxurious yacht that would be as suitable for family-friendly cruising as it would be for serious sportfishing. In fact, it was Slane who coined the term “convertible” to describe his new creation, the 41 foot Knit Wits. Now, over a half-century later, Slane Marine, owned by Willis’ son Tom since 1984, is introducing the latest evolution in convertibles, while retaining the authentic Carolina heritage so favored by fishermen and cruisers alike.
The Slane Marine team is proud to introduce a new 62 foot convertible that will be as friendly to the environment as it is to the owner’s bank account. Our clear, unwavering focus on design – including an optimized Carolina hull form, attention to weight reduction, and the incorporation of the latest Volvo IPS drives – yields more interior volume, better performance, and vastly improved fuel efficiency that is unmatched in the market today
