British Marine Scotland, as one of the lead partners in the Marine Tourism Strategy, Giant Strides, will continue to maintain a tourism priority but is now planning to concentrate on developing a more focused approach to education, training, skills and careers. This is in order to address an acknowledged skills and careers deficit within the sector. It is keen to better understand recruitment and training issues as we move forward and have created a short survey for employers within the sector.
The responses will help inform our future priorities for the sector in Scotland and will be invaluable when working with colleges and training providers, Skills Development Scotland and other agencies who have a focus on skills and workforce development.
