Chasing Tokyo, the documentary following the British Sailing Team’s journey to Tokyo 2020, has been shortlisted for a Webby Award.
The Webbys celebrate the internet’s best content – and Chasing Tokyo has made it into the top five in the sports category from more than 14,000 international entries.
The 90-minute film, made by Orillo Films, was released in July last year, one year on from the British Sailing Team’s five-medal haul in Tokyo.
Chasing Tokyo can be streamed at Olympics.com and on Discovery+.
It is up for two awards – one which the Webbys academy members decide and one which is voted for by the public.
Will Carson, the British Sailing Team’s communications manager and Chasing Tokyo producer, said: “It’s humbling that Chasing Tokyo has been recognised as one of the best pieces of content on the web but now we need everyone’s help to reach the top spot.
“It would mean a lot to everyone involved in the making of Chasing Tokyo if it was to win a Webby, as well as raising the profile of sailing internationally.
“If you can spare a few minutes to vote for Chasing Tokyo we would greatly appreciate it.”
The public vote closes on Thursday 20 April.
