RYA Cymru Wales has today announced the appointment of Chris Munro as its new Chief Executive.
Kidwelly resident Munro has over 20 years’ experience in the sports sector, initially in facility management, Sport Wales and Local Authority before a 9-year career with the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU). Most recently, Chris strategically spearheaded the sustainability and growth of more than 300 WRU clubs as their National Club Development Manager.
He will replace Gerwyn Owen, who is moving on from RYA Cymru Wales to work at Hafan Marina in Pwllheli.
Munro said: “I am delighted to be joining RYA Cymru Wales and am relishing the opportunity to work collaboratively with our Board, staff, clubs, centres and partners to deliver the future strategy for boating in Wales.”

Munro will take up the role of RYA Cymru Wales Chief Executive in mid-May.
