Cockwells Modern and Classic Boatbuilding is set to premiere its super-stylish, sophisticated and fun-loving Duchy Sport at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show (MYS23), which takes place in the Principality between 27 and 30 September.
As well as being the ultimate fun boat for wakesurfers, wakeboarders and hydrofoilers, the Duchy Sport is an ideal all-rounder, providing all the glamour and versatility of an exceptional day boat, which can be customised to the client’s preferred layout.
After her highly successful UK launch at last year’s Southampton International Boat Show, the Duchy Sport will make her international debut in Monaco this year. In 2024, she is set to achieve fame on the big screen, starring alongside Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx in a forthcoming Netflix Original entitled Back in Action.
As well as creating the perfect wave to surf, the Duchy Sport features multiple towing points for wakeboards and inflatables, and delivers luxury in abundance – from sunbeds and a forward cabin with heads to a hot water shower and galley – all with the high-end finesse that you would expect from this internationally-acclaimed British boatbuilder.
A Bimini supplies shade and supports removable awnings for additional protection. Adjustable backrests provide comfortable seating around the dining table or an aft-facing view for those who prefer to gasp in awe at the tricks of any extreme watersports enthusiasts who happen to be on board. Aft steps lead to a bathing platform with large swim ladder, enabling easy access to azure waters. Generous stowage for water toys completes the scene.
“In the latest version of the Duchy Sport, we have introduced a galley down below and a hatch within the cabin that, when opened, creates a double bed,” explains Cockwells’ Design Director, Henry Ward. “As well as having a blast on the water, you can now dine and dream on the Duchy Sport.”
With her deep catwalks and high rails, the Duchy Sport offers a safe environment for people of all ages to enjoy. The cabin is air-conditioned so that you can cool down after taking in the sun’s rays from one of the lounging areas – either on the foredeck or aft deck, which can be transformed into one expansive space.
“The Duchy Sport also makes the perfect chase boat because of her impressive seagoing capabilities. She can be easily fitted with substantial towing eyes and therefore towed rather than stowed,” adds founder and managing director, Dave Cockwell. “Unlike many other such tenders on the market, the stern drives can be lifted into trailer mode to reduce drag and prevent damage, too.
“We are really looking forward to welcoming visitors aboard the Duchy Sport to experience the world-class craftsmanship, technological prowess and contemporary styling for which Cockwells is renowned across the world.
“Our team will be on hand to share information about the superlative sets of tenders we have recently delivered to megayachts, Renaissance and Blue, during another year of exceptional growth, and the latest quartet that we have been commissioned to design and build.
“A warm welcome awaits you at QJ5 in the MYS23 Tender Show and we can’t wait to discuss your requirements whatever kind of tender you desire.”
