End of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme

With the end of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme on 30 September, British Marine members may find themselves needing support in managing staff going forward. 

As such, Business Care (a British Marine membership benefit) offers a free service to all members. It is a one-stop shop for legal, human resource and compliance advice/guidance.

British Marine members who are not yet signed up for Business Care, can follow these steps:

1. Log into your British Marine account by clicking on this link
2. Obtain the membership code, which you will need to copy
3. Head to the Business Care registration and paste the previously copied code to sign-up to the service 

Training

There is lots of guidance from the government under the ‘Plan for Jobs’ skills and employment programmes: information for employers’ that offers information on a range of government programmes (some include financial incentives) which are available for employers who are considering hiring employees, and offer work experience or opportunities to upskill existing staff.

Any new roles that you develop over the coming months can be advertised through the British Marine website under our Submit a Vacancy page.
