Light up someone’s Christmas Day with the new RAW Pro 2
Exposure Marine has released the newly updated RAW Pro 2. Already the go-to head torch for many of the world’s elite offshore sailors, this upgrade brings sailors additional output power and longer run times in the low and medium output settings.
The RAW Pro 2 now offers up to 265 lumens bright white light for outstanding visibility on deck, together with 50 per cent more red light output of 75 lumens for better night visibility, without any glare. Pre-set to switch on in its lowest red light setting the RAW Pro 2 prevents any risk of compromising your or your crew’s night vision.
A simple, single click operation switches the RAW Pro 2 from red to white, and up to high white mode. Weighing just 80 grams this little head torch also features a 300 lumen strobe light which will last for 50 hours.
USB recharging takes just 1.5 hours and with the new through-case magnetic charging option you simply connect the charger lead with a quick ‘snap on’ motion. Whilst pounding through the oceans there’s no need to undo any caps to connect up, which also prevents any risk of damage from water ingress. The head torch can also be grabbed from the charger for urgent use and is instantly usable in wet conditions.
Will Harris of Team Malizia, who took third place in the recent Ocean Race comments: “The updated charging system of the RAW Pro 2 is great and makes this headtorch the best option on the market. Making life easy, especially with uncomfortable conditions in the ocean, is key to performance and Exposure is certainly helping with this.”
The improved run times see an up to 60 per cent increase, with the lowest red five lumens setting giving a maximum 40 hours and the low white 15 lumens setting has doubled its run time to 20 hours. On constant full power bright white you will get a full hour of run time.
Designed to withstand the rigours of ocean racing, this highly waterproof IPX7 rated, durable head torch is made with a tough marine grade aluminium construction. Supplied with a minimalist 32mm headband that supports the adjustable headtorch in a secure low-profile bracket, high visibility fibres in the weave will catch any light and create a 360 degree high vis ‘halo-effect’ making it easy to spot other crew members on deck. Silicone strips inside the headband improve the holding performance, removing any need for an overhead strap and also help to channel any sweat towards the back of the head.
The RAW Pro 2 also has an optional docking station which can double up as a chart table light. Dual magnetic connection points hold the RAW Pro 2 in place when charging, so the light can be used in situ for full red or white illumination below decks.
