Renowned chief technical officer of Formula One’s Red Bull Racing team, Adrian Newey OBE, has taken delivery of the latest Williams SportJet 460 tender to complement his 27.4 metre Oyster 885 sailing yacht. The SportJet 460, a product of the leading British luxury yacht tender manufacturer, boasts a sleek carbon black tube, white upholstery, and teak decking with feature black caulking, making for a sophisticated and sporty support tender for the luxurious parent yacht.
The Williams SportJet 460 is purpose-built for yachts exceeding 25 metres and can carry up to six passengers. This high-performance tender is not only an elegant addition to the Oyster 885 but also a versatile watercraft capable of reaching speeds of up to 48 mph. Whether serving as a tender for the Oyster yacht or transforming into a sporty ski boat for the adventurous at heart, the SportJet 460 delivers an exhilarating experience on the water.
Adrian Newey is no stranger to pushing the limits of engineering and design. Widely regarded as one of the greatest engineers in Formula One history, his decision to commission a 27.4-meter Oyster yacht for a global circumnavigation underscores his commitment to exploration and adventure.
The Williams Jet Tenders team was delighted to welcome Adrian to its headquarters in Oxfordshire where he enjoyed a full tour of its class-leading facility before creating the specification for his personal SportJet. Mathew Hornsby, commercial director at Williams Jet Tenders, commented: “To have such a preeminent Formula One engineer select our SportJet 460 as his tender is a real honour for us. We were delighted to welcome Adrian to our headquarters to take delivery and we look forward to following Adrian’s circumnavigation in 2024 with our SportJet 460 as part of the journey.”
