Nature Recovery Green Paper
Last week saw the publication of the Nature Recovery Green Paper and will start the conversation on how Defra Group will change its future working model to deliver it.
Significantly, this will be mapping out the route to meet the ambition of the 25-Year Environment Plan by focusing on commitments not only to protect 30 percent of vital blue and green spaces by 2030 and halt the decline in biodiversity loss, but also how to restore it.
A particularly welcome point is the focus on simplifying environmental designations, a greater role for evidence and scientific judgement and emphasis on recovery.
As part of the Nature Recovery Green Paper publication a consultation will run for eight weeks to seek public views here.
