Safinah Group, marine coatings and engineering experts, has appointed Dr. Benigna v. Brederlow as Head of Yacht.
Benigna has worked within the superyacht coatings industry since 2008. She has been involved in projects regarding topcoat assessment, visiting most of the large new build projects in Germany as well as many of the largest superyachts in today’s growing fleet.
Heavily involved in observing and analysing topcoat quality, monitoring performance and changes due to aging, Benigna was a member of the working groups for the ICOMIA Guideline and ISO 11347, developing standards for applicators, shipyards and owners. She also has completed the Registered Marine Coatings Inspectors (RMCI) course.
Benigna is a keen sailor, having started in offshore yacht racing in 2000, working for the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and has even completed an Atlantic crossing.
On the appointment, Benigna says; “I am looking forward to working with our Yacht team, we have such a wide range of expertise and knowledge to support so many types of projects, I know I will learn a lot.
