British Marine’s technical department has just published its latest quarterly technical report, TR129.
The quarterly technical report covers all regulatory and technical changes that have occurred in the last quarter and is an essential tool for the marine industry to ensure members are keeping up to date with the changes that impact the whole industry.
TR 129 includes the following topics of high importance to the different sectors of the marine industry:
Leisure vessels (sub 24m):
- Brexit Updates
- MIC registrations (both for imported vessels and exporting vessels to the EU)
- Review Study on the Recreational Craft Directive (RCD)
- ICOMIA’s Quarterly EU Updates Report
- Changes to small craft ISO standards
Small Commercial vessels (sub 24m Load Line Length):
- Changes to whole body vibration regulations
- Changes to both noise at work and vibration at work regulations
- Workboat Code 3 working group
Passenger Vessels:
- Revised standards for older passenger vessels ‘Grandfather Rights’ update
- Consultation on carriage and charging of Electric Vehicles (EV’s) on Ro Ro ferries
- Small Seagoing Passenger Ship code (SSPS) update
- Enclosed Spaces Regulations
- Revisions to the Merchant Shipping (Counting and Registration of Persons on Board Passenger Ships)
Large Yachts:
- Recent IMO meeting reports including MEPC 75 and MSC 104
- Changes to ISO standards
