Southampton International Boat Show 2022 charity donations fund new RS CAT 14 for Southampton Water Activities Centre
Thanks to the generous donations of visitors to last year’s Southampton International Boat Show, we were able to raise enough funds to provide Southampton Water Activities Centre (SWAC), the 2022 show charity, with a brand-new RS catamaran.
Jake Elsbury, training and fleet specialist at RS Sailing, joined Abi Blondell, lead instructor at SWAC to officially hand over the new craft which will be used to enable more people to get on the water and share the amazing benefits that being on the water can bring people’s health and wellbeing, alongside learning great new skills.
“Having access to a new, modern catamaran will enable SWAC to inspire the community of Southampton to spend time on our surrounding waters and gives us the resource to upskill a new generation of sailors,” commented Abi.
“The Southampton International Boat Show is a great place for people to find out everything they need to know about getting out on the water and to raise funds in support of fantastic initiatives like SWAC,” commented Adrien Burnand, head of marketing and communications at British Marine. “I am sure everyone at SWAC will thoroughly enjoy getting out and learning to sail on this awesome new boat.”
