Help raise awareness of the changes to the national Time Expired Pyrotechnics (TEP) disposal services
The Department for Transport has released a range of communications graphics and media assets to help companies raise awareness of the changes to the national TEP (Flares) disposal services.
In December 2022, the Government stopped offering private individuals the service to dispose of TEPs. Now all TEPs must be disposed of in the correct manner by the owners through a third-party service.
British Marine and the RYA have expanded its Green Blue Environmental Facilities Map to help users identify where their local disposal service is located, but there are gaps in the provision, and as such there are risks that users may choose to dispose of their TEPs in a less than authorised manner.
Using the provided graphics in either your social media communications or by displaying in your office, shop or marina may help raise awareness of the requirements the new system imposes.
Please download the graphics here to share on your social channels and websites.
There is also an opportunity to become a disposal centre, if you would like further information, please contact technical@britishmarine.co.uk
