Premier Marinas teams up with renowned adventurer, speaker and author, James Ketchell, in preparation for his next global adventure.
10 years ago, James became the first and only person to have rowed across the Atlantic Ocean, summited Mount Everest, and cycled 18,000 miles around the world, in what the media dubbed ‘The Ultimate Triathlon’.
Then, in 2019, he flew an open-cockpit gyroplane over 24,000 miles around the world to set the record for the first circumnavigation in an aircraft of its type.
Later this year, James will tackle his biggest undertaking to date – to sail solo around the world and become the first person to circumnavigate the globe by air, sea and land.
James shares: “My next adventure comes with a purpose – to engage young people with exciting, interactive and educational content and inspire them to pursue their own goals and dreams.
I’m really pleased that Premier Marinas is supporting my ambitions both with my adventure and my cause.”
James has purchased a Class 40 yacht which is berthed at Premier’s Gosport Marina – a deep water marina close to the entrance of Portsmouth Harbour with easy access to open water for sea trials and training. Premier will be following James’ preparations, including fitting out at specialist boatyard Endeavour Quay (formerly Camper & Nicholsons) which offers a comprehensive range of top-quality yard services for refit and repair of yachts and commercial vessels up to 40m or 180T.
