Back for the second time, the Great Britain Sail Grand Prix takes place in Plymouth on the weekend of 30-31 July. The sport’s best athletes return to British waters with nations going head-to-head racing identical hydrofoiling F50 catamarans.

Watch the action

If you’re watching in Plymouth, the official spectator area on the Plymouth Hoe includes live race commentary, the official merchandise shop, refreshments, stage and podium with athletes.

The RYA will be exhibiting so drop by the stand for everything you need to know to start or progress your sailing including information on local sailing clubs and courses for all ages and abilities. There’ll also be activities to keep younger visitors entertained.

On the main racecourse, keep your eyes peeled for a lucky group of young sailors from ten local RYA affiliated sailing clubs who’ll be taking part in a sail-by flying the national flags for each SailGP nation.

Racing takes place both days from 2 – 3.30 pm. If you can’t make it to Plymouth, you can watch the racing live or catch-up on Sky Sports and YouTube.

Win visit from a member of the SailGP Great Britain team

The RYA has teamed up with SailGP to offer one club a special prize. We’re encouraging sailing clubs to get the bunting up, dress your club in your favourite team colours, turn on the TV and host a watch party (either live or when you’re off the water).

Share your pictures on Facebook with the hashtag #SailGPClubParty and tagging @SailGP and @RoyalYachtingAssociation. The best watch party photo from the weekend will win an exclusive visit from a member of the Great Britain SailGP Team. Second and third placed clubs will win a piece of signed merchandise plus five pairs of tickets to next year’s event in Plymouth in 2023. Read the terms and conditions
