As we step ashore into 2024, I hope everyone is getting ready for the season ahead. We have some fantastic courses, so register yourselves, and let’s start the New Year with some skill development.
It was great seeing the Powerboat instructor course at Hollingworth fill up rapidly over the Christmas holidays. If you didn’t manage to register, keep your eyes peeled, as we will share details of future Powerboat courses as they become available. Please also check our new Events page for more information.
Dates for the Diary!
We still have space for the February Dinghy Instructor course at the Anderton Centre on the 17th-18th and 24th-25th February. Please be quick, though, as bookings will close at the start of February.
Powerboat Skills Days in the North East. Ripon Sailing Club and Halifax Sailing Club host these skills days on 24th February, allowing us to refresh our skills and knowledge with current best practices and improve your personal powerboat handling. The ratios for operating powerboat activity are limited, so please book quickly if you want to attend one of those days.
The National Training Conference takes place on 27-28 January. I will be attending, so if you plan to come along, make sure you go and find me to say hello; it’ll be great to see you.
The RYA Dinghy Show takes place on the 24-25 February when the booking for the regional Junior Championships will go live. I will also be there all weekend, so if you plan on attending, please come and find me and chat.

We will cover everything from introduction to winging, powerboating and dinghy racing sessions, with individual technical, practical and shore-based sessions all available. Bookings are limited to 80, so please watch for this one.
