Saturday’s event was attended by representatives from across the region’s clubs, which encompasses Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire. During the day there were opportunities for clubs to network, as well as hear the latest RYA updates, and attend workshops on a variety of matters from funding to advice from legal experts, and how to increase participation in yacht racing.
Sunday’s Cruising Conference was the first return to an in-person event since 2019 and saw over 100 attendees benefit from the day.
Robbie Bell, Regional Development Officer for the East, said:
“I was delighted to see so many people attend RYA East events over the weekend, Saturday saw 90 people representing clubs from across the region come together to share ideas, discuss challenges and hear from subject experts about a range of topics designed to support clubs with their aims. Sunday saw 125 people attend our Cruising Conference, with updates from the RYA, Border Force and a number of insightful and inspirational talks for delegates to attend, this was a great success. We would like to thank all that supported both events, including the Royal Hospital School.”
