Operation Zero, which was launched by the Department for Transport at COP26, is an industry coalition working together to accelerate the decarbonisation of the operations and maintenance vessels in the North Sea offshore wind sector.

The aim of Operation Zero is that zero-emission operational and maintenance vessels are deployed in the region by 2025.

This declaration was signed by the initial cohort of members on 9 November 2021. It outlines the potential for this sector to be a first in the group’s mission statement and pledge to decarbonise these vessels.

Research into decarbonising offshore wind operations and maintenance vessels has been published to support the initiative.
