The British Marine membership annual declarations period goes live on Monday 27 March 2023 and we want to make sure you are ready to ensure your renewal runs smoothly.

Step 1 – Information required

To help you prepare for your redeclaration, here’s a list of what you’ll need to help you complete your redeclaration form:

  • Marine trading turnover of the Member Company for your last full financial year as per your last audited accounts, in pounds sterling
  • The total turnover of the Member Company, including both marine and non-marine trading activity
  • The number of employees involved in your marine trading activity, including yourself, those who work full time, part time or on a temporary/contract basis
  • The percentage of your marine trading turnover and marine employees relates to either the Leisure, Superyacht or Small Commercial Marine Industry
  • For your marine trading activity, the total cost of all the bought in raw materials, products and services you pay for, including rent and rates
  • Any international trading turnover

Step 2 – Key dates

Make a note of the following key dates to ensure you don’t miss any critical deadlines and avoid any sector specific price increases or undisclosed turnover adjustments.

Step 3 – Why do I need to redeclare?

It is important for British Marine to have up to date and accurate marine turnover figures from our membership. Not only does this help us set membership fees equitably, but it also supports our work in representing our industry to the government with credible statistics.

Please note that if we do not receive your business’s marine turnover declaration by the 5 May, we will automatically apply a sector specific percentage increase and undisclosed turnover adjustment to the amount we invoice you for the new membership year.

If you have any questions, please read this PDF document where we have answered some popular FAQ’s.

Step 4 – Why membership matters

Firstly, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our members for their continued support over the last year and look forward to working with you as we move into the next membership year.

With the support of our members, we can work together to continue to grow our industry, while representing leisure marine businesses best interests on a global stage. Whether it’s training, events, market intelligence or networking, representation, sustainability, communications or technical assistance, the team at British Marine is on hand when you need it to provide advice and guidance on a whole range of issues and are constantly ensuring that the views and rights of the sector are taken into consideration.
