After the highly anticipated launch of their brand new 350hp outboard engine at boot Düsseldorf in January, Yamaha was pleased to take part in the UK’s leading annual conference for RYA instructors and other key training centre principles, which took place over the weekend of 27-28 January at Hilton’s DoubleTree Hotel in Oxfordshire.
The RYA Training Conference is a key event in the calendar for RYA instructors, playing host to a variety of inspirational speakers and exhibitions, alongside important updates from the RYA and wider industry.
Ed Stevens, Commercial and Boat Partner Sales Manager at Yamaha Marine UK was on hand to deliver a Tech Talk Session on a number of key topics, including the importance of fuel and fuel filters.
The Tech Talks at the RYA Conference held significant importance in facilitating the integration of new features and technologies into the practices of RYA instructors. As the landscape of education and instruction evolves, keeping abreast of technological advancements becomes paramount to ensure effective learning outcomes.
“These talks were a great way for RYA instructors to learn about the latest tools and features of the products they’re using, which in turn empowers them to deliver more engaging and impactful learning experiences to their students,” said Stevens.
As part of the session, Stevens also discussed Yamaha’s world-leading Helm Master EX rigging system, with the latest modifications – new for 2024 – which include Yamaha’s new 704 Remote Control Box with neutral locking feature, now incorporated into its brand new 350hp outboard engine.
Yamaha’s Helm Master EX is an integrated boat control system with joystick steering and range of single-function buttons that enable boat owners with Yamaha outboards to effortlessly manoeuvre with complete confidence and control on boats with single to quint engine applications.
“Yamaha’s Helm Master EX joystick is more than just a slow speed manoeuvring device, it also provides the ability to control and adjust other Helm Master EX features such as Speed Control and Pattern Shift, along with Autopilot features of Heading Hold and Course Hold,” says Stevens.
The Tech Talk also covered Yamaha’s latest integration of Sleipner and VETUS bow thrusters, augmenting its market-leading Helm Master EX boat control system even further, offering boat users with Yamaha outboards seamless boat handling, even in the most confined areas, such as marinas.
