Ben Medland from Drift Energy to be keynote speaker at this year’s seminar

British Marine is pleased to announce Drift Energy’s Ben Medland as this year’s keynote speaker at the Superyacht UK (SYUK) Technical seminar being held on April 9 2024 at the Dickens Inn, St Katharine Docks.

Ben will discuss their pioneering new concept looking to solve part of the alternative fuels transition for Superyachts. Drift Energy looks at new ways to produce green hydrogen, whilst also resolving storage and delivery problems all at once.

For visionary owners, the DRIFT Energy Yacht exists to achieve an exclusive sustainable and secure green fuel.

Ben joins an exciting lineup for the day with the following now confirmed:

  • Cayman Island Shipping Register will give an update on the new REG code, now published and coming into force from July this year.
  • Maritime Aviation looks at helipad design and crew training, with a focus on issues on the less-regulated private superyachts and offering potential solutions.
  • Warsash Maritime Training/Solent University will look at training for crew using alternative fuels.
  • Further talks looking at Carbon footprint measurements, a follow on from last year’s panel discussion on Li batteries and many more.

With a full agenda to be released this week, this event is not to be missed.

Now in its 13th year, the SYUK Technical Seminar is a well-established event in the Superyacht calendar, welcoming international industry professionals from within the Superyacht world who will come together to discuss sector specific topics.
