The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), in collaboration with Innovate UK KTN, will be hosting a webinar on the 15 May 2023 to showcase some of the funded projects from Phase 2 of the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF).

The IETF supports businesses with high energy use to transition to a low carbon future, and to cut their energy bills and carbon emissions through increased energy efficiency and decarbonisation relating to the industrial process itself. It is a crucial part of the Government’s strategy for tackling climate change and reaching Net Zero by 2050. This was demonstrated by the announcement in the recent Powering up Britain publication that Government will launch Phase 3 of the IETF, worth up to £185m in 2024 (subject to business case approval).

The event will present the overall impact that the IETF programme has delivered during Phase 1 and 2 as well as focussing on some of the industrial sites who are planning to deploy technologies to reduce their energy demand with support from the IETF. DESNZ will also share details of the upcoming consultation for Phase 3 of the IETF programme.

The webinar will benefit a number of organisations and professionals including:

  • Manufacturing companies
  • Mining and quarrying companies
  • Recovery and recycling of materials companies
  • Data centres
  • Energy efficiency and decarbonisation technology providers
