Have your say: Consultation launched into future product safety and enforcement framework

The UK Government has launched a new consultation which will consider future product safety requirements now that we have left the EU.

The purpose of the consultation is to gather information on how product safety legislation could be improved in the future. The consultation will look at the rules governing different products; how these rules are enforced and the obligations placed on the wider supply chain.

This could have a significant impact on our members involved in the manufacturer sector.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards is seeking feedback in the following areas:

  • Product design, manufacture and placing goods on the market
  • New models of supply
  • New products and product life cycles
  • Enforcement considerations
  • A diverse and inclusive product safety framework

British Marine members can email their feedback to Frances Marley via FMarley@britishmarine.co.uk. Feedback should be emailed before 23 April.
