Product recall for two paddleboards

The Office for Product Safety and Standards have announced the recall of two Jobe paddleboards over safety concerns. Both products have been identified as presenting a risk of drowning due to a faulty glue which creates leakage through the seams of the board, causing the paddleboard to deflate.

Product: Jobe Duna 11.6 and Jobe Yarra Teal 10.6 Inflatable Paddleboard Package

Hazard: The product has been identified as presenting a risk of exposure to water / drowning as its substandard glue should have a minimal life cycle of 5 years when used normally and maintained properly, however research has shown that this is not the case for the defaulted batch. The substandard glue creates leakage through the seams of the board and if the seam separates when the product is in use, the user may fall into the water unexpectedly.

The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

Corrective action: The product has been recalled from end users.

Owners of the above products are advised to visit the Product Safety Alerts page on the GOV.UK website for further information and next steps.
