Submission deadline 5 May 2023

All current members of British Marine will have received an email invitation to redeclare their marine turnover, just in case you missed it, we have created a redeclaration guide to help you through the process.

To complete your redeclaration  there are a few steps you will need to be aware of.

Step 1 – Information required

  • To help prepare for the redeclaration, here’s a list of what’s needed to complete the redeclaration form:
Marine trading turnover of the Member Company for the last full financial year as per the last audited accounts, in pounds sterling
  • The total turnover of the Member Company, including both marine and non-marine trading activity
  • The number of employees involved in marine trading activity, including the person filling out the redeclaration form, those who work full time, part time or on a temporary/contract basis
  • The percentage of the Member Companies marine trading turnover and marine employees relates to either the Leisure, Superyacht or Small Commercial Marine Industry
  • For marine trading activity, the total cost of all the bought in raw materials, products and services paid for, including rent and rates
  • Any international trading turnover

Step 3 – Why redeclare?

It is important for British Marine to have up to date and accurate marine turnover figures from our membership. Not only does this help us set membership fees equitably, but it also supports our work in representing our industry to government with credible statistics.

Please note that if we do not receive marine turnover declarations by the 5 May, we will automatically apply a sector specific percentage increase and turnover adjustment to the amount we invoice for the new membership year.

We have a written guide here that should answer typical questions.

Step 4 – Submit your redeclaration

  • Please find the declaration form here – My Organisations | British Marine. Select ‘Edit’ next to the company the form is being completed for. Please note, each member company has a login, this will need to be used to access ‘my organisations’ to complete the turnover declaration form.
  • The marine turnover submitted should be for the last financial year, ideally before 31 March 2023. If there is no turnover to declare because the business incorporated less than a year ago, please do complete the form and email declaration@britishmarine.co.uk confirming your submission is correct. Please note, the form will not accept £0 so please enter £1.
